Jellyfish Nebula - IC443

Recommended Posts

Took this a couple of nights ago, it was blowing a gale so I am really surprised at the quality of the subs. I had to do some star repair in the top right corner (still not perfect) due to the flattener not quite covering the whole of the CCD fov.

Details:

20X 10min subs

ED80 with WO FF III

QHY8

Guided through 8" SCT with 3.3 reducer and DSI

See here for the full size image.

Very nice indeed despite the windy conditions. My WO FR III seems to cover the whole FOV although I do find that on close inspection, I do get slightly 'spiky' stars in the corners - infinitely better than the stretched stars I used to get though.

The reducer problem has to be down to spacing but with so few nights i dont want to spend all night trying to get it spot on! I was intending to crop this but then spotted the other nebulosity towards the top right so decided to repair the stars and leave it uncropped.
