Will HEQ5 deal with this weight combo?

Recommended Posts

Hello just been building up my set up i plan to use

200p = 10kg

st-80 = 1.7kg

adm dual mount bar = 1.25kg

canon 450d = 0.5kg

synguider = 0.2kg

total 13.65kg

Do you think this is ok for the heq5 to handle or too heavy? or does anyone out there have a similar set and managing no bother?

dont want to overload and possibly damage the mount:confused:

I've been using the same compo as Dave, the scopes, cameras and DM bar weigh in at about 7.5Kg. Never had a problem. My RC weights 5.5Kg, so I think that takes me up to about 10Kg, and that's been fine on the weight.

I know what you mean, I have my 10" LX200 for longer focal lenth but have only used for imaging solar system objects.

If you already own one it's always worth a go. Would seem a shame to buy another scope if the one you already have would do.

What they all said :(

One option which Glider suggests is to try converting your finerscope into a guiderscope. This is what I plan to do, I have all the components just waiting for the skies to clear.
