First piccies with new Coolpix camera

Cannot get it connected to my scope yet, need to find an adapter (Thats another thread to start!) so I simply pointed it at the sky and took a 30second (I think) then an 80second shot (With a plane that flew straight through). Quite pleased with this, just need to get it mounted on the scope somehow.........

A load of those 30 second ones would stack great in DSS Blinky, looks really promising. The frame you posted has processed up very well indeed so you must have had the focus bang on, well done mate, that's the hard bit!

Need to own up to the focus bit. As its not a full DSLR I just set the focus to the infinity setting!

Adobe Photoshop, adjusted the levels, which can be found in 'Image' on the toolbar at the top, then 'adjustments' then 'Levels' adjust as you see fit, and 'unsharp mask, which can be found in 'Filters' which is also on the toolbar...

Orionis just peeping over the bottom edge, the bright star 10% up and 20% from the left is Betelgeuse.
