well after a long time coming it seems tonight is the night i get to see saturn again,the last time i see it was thru my old meade ds2080,now i have a skywatcher 200p and i cant wait!!!

Oooh! Great idea! Looks like it will be clear right through perhaps, so I might just get my spare setup going with C9.25 and have my first peek at Saturn too.

Better stop drinking Rosé I think

Aaaargh I can't believe it I'm at my dark site and the only clouds in the sky are where Saturn should be!!!

Hey that is a great first attempt! Is that the shadow from the rings at the bottom third of the planet?

Thats really good. Is that on the neximage? I tried last night stills and vid and just got a fuzy blob, looked clear but the air was all over the place. When i looked at the jup shots I took earlier that eve they were the same, just brighter :-(

Yes I believe it is the shadow, and yes it was taken with a neximage I had to muck about with the gain and shutter speed to lose the white blob effect, it's a whole different ballgame to shooting Jupiter a lot harder too

I looked at Saturn this morning and am pretty sure I saw a whitish patch in the North Western quadrant of Saturns disc. Did anyone else see this & was it the so-called 'dragon' storm?
