The solar system (with artistic licence)

Over the second half of this term art students and members of the quay arts centre have been painting a mural underneath my lab in the science and technology block. It is a stunner, ok there may be a few issues on details such as scale and planetary details but I thought I would share it with the community.

I particularly like the way Venus and Mercury seem to stand out in front of the background, almost in 3D

It was a team of 3/4 I think they spent 2 or so hours every wednesday for 4 weeks. They did work pretty fast, as to the paints I couldnt say.

I like it.

My nephew was asked by his art teacher to paint a few murals on walls in his school over the summer holidays last year. He has now just finished school this year but his legacy lives on in the form of his artwork.

They even paid him for his time and work.

Wow! That is spectacular. What a glorious thing to be greeted with when you step into the building each morning. That would certainly make my mornings brighter
