First image - a common one

OK, here is my first proper effort at taking a number of pictures, stacking them in DSS and then fiddling with the result in photoshop. Unfortunately I forgot to take darks for some of the image durations, and I didn't take any flats at all. More annoyingly I have these damn diffraction type spikes all over the place! If it hadn't have been for those, I might have devoted a bit more energy to it (I even used auto levels to save time). Made up of 2x10 minute frames, 10x5 minute frames and 20x15 second frames.

When I get the spikes sorted out, I will try much harder!

Canon 450D, Equinox 80, TRF-2008 focal reducer, Baader Neodymium filter

HEQ5, QHY5 guidecam, 50mm finderscope

That's a great first shot - you have some of the trapezium stars resolved and I can see the running man nebula clearly. And trackings good too. Smashing start - congrats
