Ed80 Pro what's this bit do?

On Richard's new scope there is an adjustment thumb screw under the focuser.

I know it's either focus tension adjust or focuser lock but don't know which one.

Can't check cause he's took the scope home

Its probably the rotating focuser lock.

tension adjustment sometimes they work other times have to file a bit , ehheeh mine works fine

The standard ED80 crayford isn't a rotateable one unfortunatly

Focus lock..

If you stick a DSLR on the back of it, the weight of the camera will slowly pull the focus tube out so your images will be ...err....out of focus!

Once you have achieved focus tighten the screw up and Bob's a bloke that sell nobs!

Can't quite see the point of a rotatable focusser. The less bits on a scope that can wobble the better IMHO

The rotatable focuser is a god send!

Frame the image with loosing focus! Brilliant. The sentinal had one.

Oh ok. I'll try it on the ZS66 rather than turning the camera. Can't get excited about it though :? BTW my M45 was badly framed cos the dec drive wasn't working and it was to much of a pain to dig out the manual control.
