Welcome to the forum, Amy.

Don't have any experience of the astro 76 myself, but celestron do make some good scopes. In that sort of price range, you may be better with a good pair of binoculars. Celestron are incredibly good value and have received some excellent feedback on SGL (You would need to think about some means of supporting them eg tripod).
