The mathmatical formula for the clouds and new kit syndrome is a follows

L = P x A x D x C2

Where L = Likelyhood of 100% cloud cover

P = Price of equipment in £

A = Apeture of kit in mm

D = Desire of buyer to use said kit in "I wanna's"

C2= Speed of light squared in mph

Any time L is equal to or more than 3 you have a least a months cloud cover. Enjoy looking at, rather than through, your new purchase.

I got a scope a couple of days ago and it was clear-ish on the first night, but I didn't know how to use the mount so I didn't see anything between the gaps in the clouds. Then the next couple of days have been absolutely dreadful, cloud, high winds, rain. I've been mostly using the scope in day time to practise pointing the scope at things.
