20 off 2min subs using my unmodified Canon 1000d on Cosmic Daves motorized Celestron alt/azi mount. No light pollution filter. Standard 18-55 lens set at 35. Western horizon is at bottom of image.

If I remember correctly, bulb setting running of APT. ISO1600, F5.6, 35mm, AWB, MF, 120s light, 20s pause, 3s anti vibration, Raw and jpg.

Yes, it was worth stripping Dave's mount down in the middle of a field on saturday afternoon to get that image.

It's not cropped, I just left off the last 20 minutes of subs where the orange glow showed up worst.

Thanks for lending me the mains hair dryer, hopping around in a puddle with the mains leads, laptop, mount power supply, etc just added to the excitement!
