Starry night updates

Hi,

Just got my Starry night v 5 off Steve - very nice chap. Nice program too - having fun with the FOV indicators etc.

My question is..............

My obs pc is not internet connected. When I use the program at home I can easily update the comet/satellite info etc

Can I update the comet, satellite info etc onto a portable drive and update the obs pc directly that way. I could not find any way to do it.

I have found the update to v5.8 part on the website but I do not think that this is what I want.

Any ideas?

I don't know the answer to that one Anthony but I know a man who does - I'll PM you his name/number.

Can the files be extracted from the update? if so maybe it's a case of copying n pasteing into your starry night folder?

Since its an auto update I think the only way to do it would be to locate where the update folder is in the prog then copy it to disc and use it to overwrite the file on the other pc.

Just had a look at mine and in the main prog folder is a SkyData folder

and in that, are three new text files marked Asteroids Satellites Comets.

Looks like you can copy/paste those hopefully
