should c100ed have 3 spacer tabs?

Hi all.

With just getting this scope,looking around the net,just wondered if my c100ed should have 3 little spacer tabs between the elements?

Seems the ones i have come across have,but mine hasnt got any.

Does anyone else have one or know whats correct?

On some scopes the spacers are hidden by the lens retaining ring / lens cell design - I think that might be the case with either the ED80 or the ED100 but I can't recall which right now

Deffinately cant see any,even hid,you can usually see them somewhere but no show.

Maybe its a different type of spacer..

Here is a pic of the lens of a C100ED - this and others I've seen do have the 3 spacers visible. They create the air space between the lens elements which is a critical part of the design. Sometimes imagers reduce the size of the spacers to recude their impact on images but they still have to be there:

Thanks for piccies,does amyone know if these have been removed from any newer models?

This one i have is about 3 weeks old.

Heres a pic,not the best but you can see lack of them.

my brand new c80ed doesnt have them either,think its been replaced with plastic ring.

There was a lot of yahoo groups traffic about the diffraction spikes the spacers caused quite some time back so I'm too surprised if they changed the design of them.

My C100ED does not have visible lens spacers - but works VERY well

I had a Celeston 102 Wideview achro for a short while recently and that did not use spacers either.

My C80ED doesn't have them either.
