Overnight rain cleared suring the morning leaving a transparent sky laced with much mid level cloud.

The Sun has much activity present but none of it is particularly impressive!

0855 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

0900 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

Note the new bright plage south east of AR 1076.

0906 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

1008 UT. Lunt 60mm, B1200 CaK diagonal, x2 barlow, DMK21

AR 1076 itself contained a fair number of very small spots which were visible in white light:

1023 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, x4 Imagemate, DMK21

A few pores were also seen in the new AR to its SE. The disc was otherwise blank in white light.

There is an interesting filament near the south limb

0908 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

and a mass of filaments near the north limb

0911 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK41

Interesting prominences on the NW and W limbs

0913 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK41

1003 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

Transparency good between drifting mid level clouds. Seeing moderate. Temp 17C, wind W force 2-3.

I've literally just started solar observing (today:))....I've got baader solar film+continuum filter on my TMB 80....Great to see a few spots today, but I would like to know a little more about what I'm looking at + recording.

Any suggestions!
