Galaxies behind the milky way

As an avid galaxy spotter..

I have just discovered there are loads more we cant see that are hiding behind the milky way.

I have so far logged 326 galaies. If it were not for the milky way no doubt I would have a few more to find!

I gather IC342 would be really bright if it were not for the milky way in Camelopardis...

Galaxies would not be high on my favourite observing objects, however, I must congratulate you on a remarkable collection.

do you know if there are many more that are within reach of your scope (and not blocked out by that pesky milky way....)?

is it time to but a bigger scope?

If you're thinking of going bigger I would definately recommend 16" of aperture. It does a teriffic job on fainter galaxies. I look at those Dreyer listings and think to myself that I should have access to at least 4,000, maybe 5,000 from a dark sky with my 16" scope. Of course, not all of them are galaxies, but alot of them are
