I bumped into this little beauty on Sunday night after wandering around in the VIR/COM cluster. The dust lane was a total surprise to me, i had no idea it was there. But as i concentrated on drawing the starfield, it started to play peek-a-boo with my averted vision. :D

After the starfield was done, i turned off the red headlamp and studied the galaxy for about ten or fifteen minutes to get a good look at the dust lane. There was some lunar interference but not too bad. Luna was only 25 percent illuminated and she was ready to set, about 10 degrees above the horizon.

Anyway, give this one a look if you get a chance... i bet it's awesome with larger aperture. Thanks for reading! :)
