2" push-fit adapter for Skywatcher focal reducers

Some time ago Skywatcher introduced three new 0.85x focal reducers optimized for use with their Evostar ED PRO series of APO refractors. They are popular and successful products that reduce the telescopes focal ratio and improve field-edge correction.

However, because they screw neatly to a thread on the Evostar ED telescope's draw-tube, those with other versions of the same telescope, like the Skywatcher Equinox, Celestron and Orion (US) 80 and 100ED, and those who have upgraded their original focuser to a Moonlite, William Optics, etc, have been left high and dry as an adapter is not available.

We have a solution

Ron at Moonlite has agreed to manufacture a 2-inch push-fit adapter. Essentially it will be a variation of their existing T and SCT-thread adapters:

Ron will start work on the adapter after NEAF in New York so it will hopefully be available to order in 3-4 weeks.

We will update this thread as soon as it arrives.

Needles to say I hope you have included me on your list Steve, perhaps you can also confirm with Ron at MoonLite, when you next talk, that the unit will be threaded for 2" filters, as his other accessories are.

In answer to your question Fay the adapter will be a straight forward tube, threaded outside to fit the SW reducer, the other end will be the standard to fit into 2" focus tubes, the quality of the unit will be without question, coming from the MoonLite stable.
