Another Fine night with the Bino's

Hello again!went out again last night for a few hours and managed to spot alot of new constellations! i also managed to see my first ever star cluster! it was incredible! i'm not sure what it was though, it was just below sirius, i think it was in canis major? would that make sense?

Hey Mike, to be honest, I don't know.

Download Stellarium, that will show you exactly where you were looking.

I couldn't live without it & you can zoom in... cool!

One of my fave clusters is Praesepe (M44) in Cancer, easy to find too.

Yes, Darren B is right - it must have been the "Little Beehive" (M41). That is just south-east of Sirius. M44 (Beehive) is really nice to look at in bino's - down below Saturn at the moment, in Cancer.

Well worth a look.
