Not so good vibrations!!

Hello,

However softly I try to focus my 120SLT the vibration from me and the turning of the focusing knob make the view through the EP jump around like there is no tomorrow and take a while to settle down.

I am sure this is a problem that everyone has faced - is there anyway I can minimise this effect?

Not 100% sure, but you may be able to fit the Skywatcher electronic focus motor.... cheap and effective....

Merlins advice seconded, auto focusser was one of the best things i bought, see my review in the reviews section.

I presume it's on an aluminium tripod? If so try damping the legs by filling with something like sand too.

I used to have an EQ3 and ended up building a home made motor for the focuser as it was impossible to use at high mag.

Eventually I just gave in and bought a CG5 on thick steel legs. Steady as a rock with a 6" on top.

It should do. The SW Startravel 102 is the same telescope.
