I've just got hold of a vesta pro webcam for my first go a imaging.

I installed k3ccdtools1 but the key has excpired on the website (15feb10) there is no new key available . Does anybody know of any other free or cheap capture software ideal for astophtography?

I have the Vesta Pro and use Craterlet from Stark Labs. Works well with the Vesta. Very simple interface compared to K3CCD but has what you need if you are just lunar or planetary imaging.

Thanks for your replies. I was looking for software that will do DSO's as well planetary and lunar.

wxAstroCapture should do the job nicely according to their website. Never used it myself but have downloaded it now....thanks Peter

Usually if you contact the author of K3CCDtools that the key has expired, he will post a new one quickly. Alternatively, you can buy the registered version. I did that a couple of years ago because I did not want the hassle with key download every so often (like when the weather clears), and quite like K3CCDtools
