Just finished watching this months S@N and is it just me or do these look like boot prints on the red planets surface!!!

They really DO look like boot prints. Also what is that bright round shape on the rock near centre of image?. That looks like an attempt at drilling out a core rock sample.

They look like tracks left by the wheels of one of the mars rovers.

If you look at the bottom right corner of the image......there are also horizontal lines crossing what appears to be a solid rock, right below what seems to be a footprint in the dirt.

Topography is a factor. The "prints" could be the tracks of a Rover crossing the surface that is not flat or even......thus making the track width "slimmer" in places rather then an even width.

Life on Mars???

Most likely but they dont want to step forward and associate themselves with us.

Spirit's wonky wheel probably left all sorts of strange tracks (before it got terminally stuck).
