Earthshine Crescent Moon and Jupiter

Just snapped this whilst setting up my main imaging rig. Taken with a Canon 400D and Tamron Di II 70-200mm Lens. It was a lovely sight with the earth shine standing out really well.

Nice image, when try to take a photo of the moon with a DSLR lense, it just ends up as a white blob!

Spotted this earier on with naked eye. Didnt see the earthshine though. Lovely image.

Use your longest lens and on a tripod, and set ISO 200-400. Do not have camera set to Auto, set it on manual. Take care with the focus. Stop down to f5 ish, and bracket your exposures. Try 1 second, and increase the speed until you are happy with the result. Use a remote shutter release, or self timer if you don't have remote release.
