TS 127/820 & TS127/1200 'Fracts

Recommended Posts

I was having a look at what Bray Imaging was selling and saw these 5" achromats TS125/820 or 1200). The price seems reasonable (£395) - are they any good?

They sell them for mounting on an EQ6 or HEQ5 - I have an HEQ5.

It just got me thinking. :insects1:

I know they are achromats - not Apo's - but does anybody know how they perform?

Idle curiosity at the moment, but I would value your thoughts on these.

Hi Tom,

I have the 5" F/9.4 TS Frac it's a cracking scope(was Gaz's) lunar and planetry observing/imaging with the scope is great i found you can really push it for example 4mm ep and 2xBarlow in good seeing produced wonderful views of Jupiter and the Moon, CA wise with the scope being F.9.4 isnt really an issue. On Dso's ive observed M13.M27,M57 recently and was impressed with the Observations.
