Hello,

I was observing M42 in Orion with my Takahashi 22x60 binoculars at approx 1.00 - 1.30 AM on Wednesday 16th December and I noticed a bright star like point of light that kept flashing on and off at approx 30 second intervals, it was located to the east side of the Nebula as seen in my binoculars, and as I observed it over a period of about 10 minutes it appeared to be moving in a random manner.

Does anybody out there in astro land know what this could have been ?

Thanks for any help.
