geminid meteor shower ?

Hi can someone please confirm for me that there is a meteor shower on the 13th december 2009 called the Geminids ?

There is indeed. They peak on the nights of 12-14th and can have an hourly rate of 160 meteors. The best shower i've ever seen was a Geminid.

They said that last month with the leonids never materialised I saw 2 over 3 nights of the peak.

Heres hoping for clear skys for next weekend and hopefully a spectacular shower (not rain Meteors).

Daz, I *think* early hours Monday morning is your best bet. Wrap up warm and get a sun lounger out, perhaps a flask of something yummy aswell

I concur with Amanda - my S@N 2009 calendar gives Sunday night/monday morning as the peak. Fingers crossed for clear skies!
