Mounting a DSLR

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm looking to connect my Canon 400 DSLR to my Celestron CPC800, I've seen the "T Rings" available on FLO's website but was wondering if I will need anything else?

T'other half is asking what I want for xmas so it seems the ideal time to ask!

Many thanks,

Mick.

I think the rear eyepiece attachment on the sct has an external T thread (??) if this is correct, the minimum you need is the T2 to EOS adaptor. This will let you mount the Canon camera body on the back of the scope and use it as a giant telelens!!

( If you want something else for Xmas think about a remote control like the TC80n - this allows you to program and operate the shutter without touching the camera and causing vibrations etc.)

The answer may depend on whether or not you plan to use a focal reducer.

When I was struggling to get the right bits to mount my C9.25 with 400D, Steve at FLO was right on the ball with the bits needed. Might be worth asking about the focal reducer too, really helps speed things up when using a dslr on an SCT.

Cheers

TJ
