Hello from Kent

Hello all,

today is an exciting day for me as I have just set up my first 'scope (a Skywatcher 130p Goto) and have been viewing Jupiter from my garden for the first time. Got a really good view of the bands when using a 10mm EP and a Barlow x2. Going out again a bit later to have a first look at the moon!

I was trying Jupiter too but have got clouded out, even the Moon can't cut through it. Where abouts in kent are you, I'm in Dover.

Not far from Tenterden - yup, it clouded over here an hour or so ago as well. Still, got some good views of the moon before the clouds came over.

Glad you got a good view of Jupiter, I can't think of many better objects to christen it with. My view of Jupiter from Derbyshire, on the other hand, was all wibbley wobbley.
