Hi spacepeople

just join sgl, this is the first time i have plucked enough courage to write in a forum

i love star-gazeing i live in london, i also have a old meade lx10

a great scope which ive had for years, but i need advice on a portable

set up good for travelling.

i have a home in cyprus(greek side) in the mountains, seeing is out of this world, so i have £1000 to spend

Hello Polydoros, it is good that you have plucked up the courage .... welcome to the forum.

Have a look through the For Sale section, there is a Meade 5000 there for £350 that would suit you nicely. I'm sure there are or have been mounts on there too.

yes im looking for a travel scope to go to cyprus where i have just bought a place in the mountains WITH AN AMAZING VIEW OF THE SKY. but i dont want to leave it there. a goto setup perhaps

you need something that will go on the plane with you as the way the luggage is thrown about it will get broken so nothing too big.

I think i will go for the nexstar 6se , like ron sg says take scope on the plane as hand luggage, the rest in suitcase.

Also i want to image as-well , witch cam should i buy ( one that really shows what the 6se can do
