alfingido
First time i have ever seen these two. Wow!I was using Distant Suns to guide me throught the night and for some reason, I had never even looked for these ( well, we did have a huge Eucalyptus tree covering that part of the sky till last year!)Beautiful view of both in my 80ED. Just need some better eyepieces to take advantage of this brilliant little scope!Allan
ashenlight
They just look so perfectly positioned don't they, a wonderful pairing. I remember the first time I saw them I stayed at the EP for over an hour just gazing. I've not tried them at high mag because I like seeing them together, in the same FOV
Doc
They do look best with a widefield set up. IMO one of the best objects in the sky.
JamesK
IMO they are better than Andromeda... maybe for the fact we are seeing two enormous objects that are gravitationally interacting... they are so massive and powerful... put then they look so faint and delicate! It's amazing.

albedo0.39
Agree - M81 / M82 in the same FOV, are almost unmatched. You really do know that you are looking "out there"Steve
