Something I saw last friday night.

Did anyone see something the brightness of a star, moving not much faster than a satellite around 9pm on Fri 18th of September. It burnt out. Was it a really slow shooting star?

That was the ISS. It passed at 21.08 here in Essex and became eclipsed as it moved from the low western sky to the lowish south.

I have actually done that .. although i found a well timed bright Iridium Flare instead of the ISS..

Even Mrs Skye didn't quite understand what she was looking at as I dragged the family outside on a very cold Christmas Eve.

Exciting times Julian my cousins are 7 and 4 - their faces last Christmas were priceless as they gazed upwards, mouths open, asking if his sleigh was full 'our presents' - it's a magical thing for them to see
