Space Station Passes - Really bright!

Just checking Heavens Above for passes, and there will be some at Mag -3.5!

Also STS 128 still very visible. We haven't had a "close up" type pic of the ISS for a while now, be great to see some!

I warned my dad it was happening tonight so he saw it down in Cornwall.

Unfortunately we had wall to wall cloud.

Thick cloud above brighton so no luck here either.

How long before the shuttle lands ? Id really like to see that

yeah i saw them about an hour ago for the first time.

much brighter and faster than i expected....Brilliant !

I saw both too, one with naked eye, the other shot across me scope lol, kinda lucky that, made me jump twas bright as hell.

i take it thats what they both were anyhoo lol

Right then can somebody answer me this Q?? Got the times for ISS & Shuttle of Above site, as always. But both were early, or so I thought, by about four mins or so. Then at 9 another bright object passed along a very similar path [if not the very same path]?? Starry Night say's it was the ISS & Progress M67, so was the third bright light @ 9 the Shuttle???

James, my guess is that you saw Discovery and Progress M67 first - both would have been similar magnitude. ISS would have passed slightly later and would have been considerably brighter.

I haven't got round to any close up ISS shots this year. Down to either bad weather or i've just not had spare time when the ideal pass comes along. I'm just waiting for the next pass that reaches a height remotely near the zenith at my location.
