Close up of Impact Site...

Greetings everyone.

Here is another recent Jupiter observation made on the morning of the 30th July 2009, 0016Ut. Seeing was around II-III (although it fell, along with image definition later) and I was able to use a combination of powers (200x, 222x and 300x, although mostly 200 and 222) to get an approximate drawing of the impact site.

All best wishes,

-Paul.

Great skech. I was looking at Jupiter last night from about 22:30 to 01:00 (amongst a few other things) but just couldn't make out the impact site. The seeing was bad most of the time but I did get some crisp views at x200. I find small details a bit tricky though as I have some annoying 'floaters' in my eyes that cause dots to drift across. Probably didn't help the collimation either when I accidentally banged my scope against the door!
