M57 Widefield

I tried my hand at autoguiding for the first time on the night 03-04 July. After much faffing around, sorting out all the hardware, cables etc I got the guiding working fine using a QHY5 and PHD on my Vixen Atlux.

Unfortunately next door had accidently left their backyard light on so I had a huge LP problem that mucked up my first set of exposures on M51, anyway late on I had a go at M57 but all bar 2 subs were OK, dawn was breaking rapidly and ruined the rest.

So here is a single jpeg of M57 taken on a SW 120ED WO flattener III canon 1000D ISO 800 1x90 secs.

Shows promise when you get your equipment sorted and can do more stacks.

Always a pleasure looking at a widefield image. Especially one containing a DSO.
