Mount for imaging with camera?

I would like to use a digi SLR to photograph constellations - no telescope.

I already have an EQ3 (and the use Greg's HEQ5 ) but would like a small mount of my own and am wondering what to look out for secondhand.

Any recommendations?

I would have thought the EQ3 with a motor would do the job very well, just need to mount the camera.

Barn door mount would be my choice for that job

Yes, I understand that the EQ3 will suffice but you know what its like, half the pleasure is in using the kit and I am hankering after something better ... but not too big

Then you must ne talking about a driven GP or a driven EQ5

cos that is the next rung on the quality ladder.

would do exactly what you want and it is as you requested "better but not too big"
