Aurora over the Yorkshire Dales...

Recommended Posts

...10th May.  Of course.

Some kit and user incompatibilities meant all below are with Canon R8 and Sigma 24mm.   No lens warmer or 14mm lens.

In chronological order.  Coronal display, single image Stone Breaker with low level lighting.  Single image from time lapse sequence of Old Gang Smelt Mill, the time lapse (longer exposure foregrounds) final interesting tonal image of Surrender Bridge Smelt Mill.

Cheers,  Paul.

I can't load the timelapses at the mo so will come back later (probably an internet issue at my end, there's been some problems :) ) but the images are just lovely :)

"Kit and user incompatibilities".  🤣🤣  I've had a few of those!

Just love all these, Paul. I've shown countless people your corona timelapse - just magical.

How did you do the timelapses?

Quite a few variations depending on subject matter...

...in this case Canon R8 with inbuilt interval timer.  Tripod.  Test exposure(s).  Then run for as long as required.  Load into Lightroom Classic to do batch processing.  Pick appropriate sample image process then apply to all.  Timelapse can be created from LR using custom Slideshow or export and create in Photoshop.  Also, I use Picture2Exe and VSDC editor to create/edit videos.

They are beautiful. How long was the time lapse over the mill? I can see the clouds changing.   David

Looks like about 8 mins...
