PST replacement blocking filters

Does anyone know where I can get a PST blocking filter replacement in the UK.

Have you tried Opticstar as I believe they are the Meade UK agent?

Are you sure that it is the blocking filter that needs replacing?  It's usually the ITF filter, the one that is fitted before the blocking filter that fails and needs replacing.      🙂

Yes I think you are right it's the ITF filter

You'll know if the ITF needs replacing in the newer type scopes (bluish colour front objective, ITF is housed in the bottom of the eyepiece holder tube you can see it if you open the side of the prism housing and look up into the eyepiece holder or unscrew the eyepiece holder from the prism box). The ITF should when you angle it to light look a light green/blue colour, any yellowing which looks like mould growth/cloudiness highlights a need for replacement. You'll also note you can't see prominence/surface details on the sun consistently across the whole FOV.

Beloptik in Europe will help if he's got them in stock. Otherwise Maier in USA though I note they've delisted the item from their website of late.

I did replace that blue filter and made a very big difference. The old one became somewhat foggy.
In my case it was a Lunt.
