Steven Harris
Hi everyone, does anyone know of a padded bag which will fit a Starsense 12" Dob, including the phone mount? Thank you
Mandy D
A 12" is not generally considered portable, so it's unlikely anyone is making a bag for them as standard. I would suggest looking at getting one made, or perhaps go for a flight case which would be a lot safer for such a large OTA.
Carbon Brush
Good advice from @Mandy D. Are you thinking of car transport? Protection against knocks in the home? In the garage? For the car I have often used a quilt. For home storage, my first 8" scope + mount + accessories used a converted bookshelf. For a 12" you are more into wardrobe or kitchen cupboard territory. Easily modifed with only basic wood working skills. HTH, David.
Matttt
This may be what you are looking for... https://www.firstlightoptics.com/telescope-bags-cases-storage/oklop-padded-bag-for-3001500-newtonians.html although you may need to remove any accessories, I have one for an 8" dob and can only leave the focuser on. Thank you Why not just get a really large duffle bag and wrap the tube in yoga or camping mats? Even closed cell foam sheets would work well. Worst case, 12" Dobs are pretty tough, and minor dents won't affect their optical abilities.
Alan White
I like padded bags for scopes and understand your wish But a 12” is getting long for in a car, but you only say about a bag for the tube or are you asking to cover a dob mount to? My 10” sits on its mount in the shed, only covers are on the tube ends, no bag in sight. The Oklop bags are good as are the Geoptik and others, just consider how much of a lump a larger tube is and then getting into said bag as well. PeterC65
I have a couple of Geoptik bags for my 6" and 8" Newtonian and they seem pretty good. They do one for a 12" as well, here.

There’s room for the OTA, AZ-GTi, the Sky-Watcher extension pillar and more. Later I can take some photos of it with the kit in place if you’re interested in ordering. https://www.cases-and-enclosures.co.uk/hard-cases-protective-storage/flight-cases/large-protective-flight-case-l585-x-w365-x-h250mm-with-cubed-foam Edited January 2 by Jules Tohpipi
JTEC
I have an Oklop for a C9.25 and a Geoptik for a 140 apo and am happy with both. If pushed to compare, I’d probably favour the Geoptik materials but really they both do the job well.

FYI, this case has four foam layers supplied. The top layer is the egg-crate foam attached to the underside of the lid. Next there’s two separate layers of thick foam (the pick and pluck variety) and finally a thin bottom layer. For the OTA and AZ-GTi I plucked only the upper layer of thick foam, but plucked both layers to house the Sky-Watcher extension pillar vertically (located top left). One of the photos shows my Bahtinov mask slid down the back (top centre left). As you can see more would fit in there. But I keep a shared (between two scopes) RACI, diagonal and eyepieces in a separate box. But I’ve got two AZ-GTis that I keep one-a-piece with my refractor and Mak. Jules Tohpipi
Excellent - glad that helped! It took quite a while to track down a goldilocks case that would house the ST102 and AZ-GTi bits at the right size and price.
