Just bought an Zwo asi715 camera cannot get asiair plus to recognise it. Any thoughts please

Try a different usb cable, sometimes the supplied ones can be a problem.

If you can connect to a PC with ASI drivers installed, if it could indicate the problem is with the ASIAir.

Thanks for your rapid response asiair plus working fine with asi533 camera using same usb3 cable not the one that came with asi715. Odd!

I’ve just got an ASI2600DUO.  It would only work with the supplied red cable not any other usb 3.# cable whether connected to my ASIAIR or my laptop. My 585 not a problem…

It looks like the ASI715 is quite a new camera - does the ASIAIR software need an update to be able to recognise the new camera? Given the ASIAIR only works with ZWO cameras I assume there's a config file somewhere on the system with a signature for each of the  ZWO cameras.

I am in the same boat.
On the ZWO Asiair forum it mentions an update which is presently in Beta which will support the ASI715.

Ideally they really should publish an interim update to support the camera. I have been able to get it working with ASICap.

Any  usb device has information about its manufacturer and model. ZWO has manufacturer code 0403 I believe. All my ZWO devices have that code when I check the usb ports. In linux (ASIAIR is based on linux), I use the command lsusb (list usb) to see this.

Thanks for this. I agree camera works fine when pluggrd into laptop. The problem is that asiair plus has not been modified to recognise the asi715 even though they have started selling.

This  is very poor on Zwo’s behalf.I will pass this on to Widescreen who sold me the camera.

I stand corrected. The vendor id for ZWO is 03c3. 0403 i s FTDI, the EQDIR cable

You can see my usb list here. The first device is my ASI294 camera. The next ZWO is my ASI290 guide cam (fourth in the list), and the last one from ZWO is my filter wheel
