Lunt LS35THa H-alpha solar telescope

Here’s a little gem. I had one a few years back , solar minimum was coming . I sold it to Peter at Todmorden ( a dream visit) . Just picked up another which shows up the current hectic activity.

It’s 35mm at 400mm ota. 25mm gives the whole disc. I use a single polarising filter which gives better contrast . There’s a bit of refocus between the disc and proms . Granulation , filaments and spots show up well . A 15mm tv plossl gives great views .
it’s ideal for grab and go as it requires no power and there’s a wee wheel for tuning up front , easy .
I’m not into photos , but I took this through the same set up a few years back . In the meantime back to the drawing board .

Well worth looking out for , as are clear skies ! cotterless45 Nick.IMG_2822.thumb.jpeg.d24ca132bed54dc3c6b028c2516c9938.jpegIMG_2825.thumb.jpeg.4253bd369e603316eca91aa2526a5ae3.jpegFC90045B-5728-4501-89A8-0788DBE3D294.thumb.jpeg.0fe13d8ef6526f08579a2c40303a6085.jpegIMG_2702.thumb.jpeg.8f9df5480b3c300bad6baeed6fb41b88.jpegIMG_3176.jpeg.bb9c4a122ec49ab05f05c2db115998ac.jpeg

Is the blocking filter the same as what comes with the current Lunt40?

It looks the same as my 40 one, but the older scope has a helical focuser on the blocking filter, the new one does not as the focuser is before the filter.

This is such an improvement. I remember placing the camera and focusing and then turning the camera so it does not turn the focuser under cable tension.
