I feel that I could have pulled more of the dust clouds for 300 seconds frames, I would also like to know how to get the actual background more dark. The image feels a bit washed to me. The image feels a bit washed to me. It does overall look a bit light on my screen. Have you tried careful use of curves to darken the background a bit. I find my images can be like yours too, hard to get a good contrast. Curves seems to do the trick sometimes. I also don’t think the actual sub time makes a big difference. It’s the total integration time. You’ve only got 50 minutes. In the grand scheme of things that’s not a lot for astro imaging. 4-8hours will pull out the background dust and the nebulosity. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gonzo Posted September 7, 2023 Author Share Posted September 7, 2023 Before I took M45 I was on M31 for about 4 hours but something went wrong with the mount so I switched over to M45 and only got 50 min, I was getting tired and needed to go to bed.
