Any ideas what the rounded slot in the spreader plate is for?

I don't own the steel version but... I kinda always assumed that any round hole would be to hold eyepieces firmly somehow?

It’s for the plastic holder of the synscan hand controller.

That’s the Adventurer mount. It’s a nice light duty tripod. The AZ5 is also available with a heavy duty tripod. That’s what I have.

You don’t have an AZ5 mounted on the steel 1.75” tripod. It’s the mount that’s called AZ5 not the standard tripod.

Mount looks like it is an AZ GTi / wifi ? ,  as it has go to tracking.

Tripod is the SW 1.75" S/S  , same as I use with a skytee2.

Do some research there are two models / sizes, my az5 also has the ss legs. It weighs around 20lb (9kg). My 14lb NP101 mounted on it perfectly. Now I am selling it because I just sold my 101 and my other half dozen refractors are much liter.
