I'm mostly visual but have dabbled in a bit of rudimentary imaging with my sct.    I can appreciate the time, patience and effort that goes in to getting decent images but it isn't for me. If I were to do more, it would be down the EAA route.

It does seem that at times that astrophotography is one of those things you can swear by or swear at, sometimes both in the space of a few minutes! 

If it is 'worth it' is definitely a personal thing.
