Aluminium Angle

The obsy build is only a few months away and im starting to look around for the necessary bits and bobs. Does anyone know a good source where I can buy aluminium angle for the roof guide rails?

Have a look around for a scrapyard. I have obtained some useful 2" ally angle from my local Scrapman. I got two lengths for my second obs sliding roof rails just a couple of weeks ago. I paid a fiver.

My 30mmx30mm aluminium angle, as used for the guide rails of my then roll-off-roof obsy, and now as guide rails for the roll-off roof hatch of my rotating turret, came from B&Q.

Its is only a guide, and not supporting weight as such, so the gauge is fine.

I drilled and countersunk the fixing scew holes, so that the screw heads were flush with the 'track'.

The screws used were stainless steel.

Try ebay, or a local aluminium stockist. I get Ali from eBay and found the prices to better than my local b&q.

Metal Supermarket if you get no joy with recycled stuff. Usually cheaper than B&Q.
