I managed to see the moon dance too. It really lived up to the hype. Thrilling to watch.
wasn’t to shabby last night either, Jupiter and the four moons to one side in a neat line and Mars finally due east before midnight. What with the eclipse on Tuesday it’s been a fantastic week.

There is another one next wednesday too. the same 2 moons transiting at the same time as the GRS, but this time the shadows don't follow until a bit later. My scope won't pick out the moons against the background of the planet but for those with large scopes,. it could work! By about 12.30am on Thursday the shadows will both be viewable on opposite ends of the planet, and just before midnight, you'll see Io pop out from behind too
