Trouble with Autostakkert

Hello all,

I've been taking some images and video of the recent solar activity and have tried to process the videos just now.

Using my planetry workflow - PIPP - Autostakkert - Registax I have been successful with the 'full disc' of the sun video, but the one I took with a 2x barlow focusing on just the main group of sunspots and a small portion of the suns edge won't work.

The only difference was selecting 'surface feature' instead of 'Object/Planetary' in the processing options of PIPP. When I move it into Autostakkert the Analyse button is greyed out and nothing I try will activitate that button.

Does anybody have any advice or know what I may be doing wrong with it?

What type of file is PIPP outputting?  Do you need to use PIPP?  I just put the original SER files into AS!2.  Have you tried that to see if the same problem occurs maybe.

Hi,

Its an AVI, same as I always use. The output from the camera is MOV, I haven't tried putting either straight into AS, I do have AS3 but will give that a go, it just seems odd that it works with full disc and not partial.

Not sure what type of file SER is, but PIPP coverted my MOV to SER, which I then loaded in AS3 which just displays a black screen, although I did get the analyse button this time and although I got a quality graph I cannot see an image?

When you run the output SER does the capture play normally ? does everything look normal ?

If I click on it nothing happens at all?

I can' t understand why my normal workflow (in the OP) doesn't work? Without trying this SER file.
