Over the last few hours they will have had the park rangers going around playing predater noises (no not clicks with arnie in the backround!!:)) and falconary to scare the wildlife away. Most stuff goes. The crocs stay under water but go nasty! There's quite a scorch and kill zone when this thing lights off!!!

im newbie with an 8" meade lx200 and basically after months of enquiry been advised to get 3 main eyepieces a 10mm for planets,a 14-16 for orion nebula etc.and a 32 or 40 to scan around with and find stuff you want to look at closer, meade 4000 minimum quality, then every well known brand you upgrade to in roughly those sizes,if the same length scope as mine, will get better views, mainly with a clear wider field of view,id imagine a £400 eyepiece would be worth spending if you had a 12" or larger scope, not an expert, but thats what ive understood so far, hope it helps. any further comments from anyone that can add or correct me on subject most appreciated.

ps. any cheapish 32 telviews or good 1.25 32mm pieces for sale anyone?

Looking at ISS and Shuttle times overhead they will be closing in on the 25th so if the sky is clear we get two bright things in the sky to see.

Having seen this before it does look really different as in look what we did folks - with a little wow factor built in as the two very bright objects move so silently and purposefully across the sky.

Wonder if a mention on the village notice board might get people to look up - it is the year of astronomy after all.

:)
