Hi, all.

I bought a used SXV-H9C one shot colour camera at a good price. It came with the add on guider and all the cables and power supply but no software.

I Googled it and found drivers which installed fine and it is recognised in Sharpcap Pro. I note from the original adverts that it came with a driver and software suite on a CD.

Does anybody know where I can download that or perhaps own a copy that they could duplicate for me and post if I pay them ?

I found some stuff on Starlight website but what was downloaded crashed with fatal error on win7.

Should I just stick to Sharpcap? I printed out the 32 page manual but it is 90 percent describing use of the camera with the original software so no help at all.

Thanks in advance.

  • Cornelius Varley changed the title to does any body use starlight express SXV-H9C camera?

I used to own one back in 2012, mine came with a disk including MaximDL light, Still use MaximDL today albeit the v5 pro suite  and with every camera since then, ive never found anything that I prefer or does a better job for capture and stacking. the H9C was an excellent camera, and besides the small size isn't really inferior to the latest sensors in my opinion.

I got Astro Art 2 when I bought an old MX5 camera and it worked great.   I later upgraded to Astro Art 4 and used it with a HX916 then a SXV-M25C

I just upgraded to Asto Art 8 yesterday and I am still using it to control the scope and all the camera equipment.    I use it to do all my image processing too.

Just keeps getting better and more capable.  NGC5033 captured and processed with AA7
