Hi,

I've been pondering joining the BAA, and was wondering if anyone here was a member, and if so, what benefits it gave.  I am a scientist by trade, and I like the look of the journal and the groups, but I was just looking for opinions before splashing £50.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Well as a past President (2015-17) and currentDirector of the BAA Variable Star Section, and Papers Secretary, I would have to say yes 😊

The core of the BAA is its observing sections that coordinate observations. Many of these sections publish newsletters.

We publish a bimonthly journal and and annual handbook. We also organise meetings around the country.

More about what we do here: https://britastro.org/about

I do hope you will join us. Note we also offer a “digital” subscription (everything online) which is lower cost

The notification on this thread has just interrupted me filling out the application form!  I see I would have missed a meeting today in Leeds.  I suspect I might be the only person glad of the postponement till April - I'm a few miles away.
