Clear outside

The Bortle scale is a measure of sky brightness. It has nothing to do with the weather forecast or the amount of cloud cover.

Your location has two decimal places, that's about a kilometer accuracy. Maybe there's a dark location near the town that you live in? Not really sure what the source of the sky brightness is on Clear Outside, most likely a calculated value based on nearby light sources measured by satellites.

You've got your co-ordinates out, the ones you've got there will put you in to the North Sea east of the Scottish Border.

That's one place you'd expect good sky quality with no light polution, it maybe a bit tricky getting a stable mount though 🤣

Having a 10" Quattro  "Sail"  on my mount might actually come in handy.....

Oops! Now I've embarrassed myself.

Thanks all

Make sure you have "World Atlas 2015" selected from the overlay dropdown.

The Bortle scale isn't scientific* and light pollution maps are considered more accurate and useful.

It is worth comparing the two. Same link as above but choose "VIIRS 2015" from the dropdown.
