Sky Watcher AZ GTi mount counterweights?

Does anyone know what can be used for counterweight bar for the Sky Watcher AZ GTi mount?

I have seen someone say the bar from a EQ1 

Would the bar from EQ2 or EQ3 be any good or are they different sizes?

 

I had also seen some bars are not the correct diameter to fit the AZ GTi socket?

A popular option is the 1kg weight and bar for the Star Adventurer.

This though won't directly fit on to the AZ GTi - (different size screw heads) so it will need a M8 to M12 joiner - for this I got on ebay. This is the route I went down, but I'm waiting for it to arrive in the post.

The weight from the EQ2 is around 3kg I think. Not sure if the bar fits, I haven't tried it.

I use the Star adventurer bar and weight with an M12 to M8 adaptor, works well.

I made a couple of bars for other members a while ago.

They were 12mm  by 40cm with M8 threads, I can make something up if you can't find anything to suit.

You can get a metre length of M12 threaded bar from B&Q for a few quid. I cut it down with a hacksaw and filed the edges to suit 👍
