SynScan for HEQ5 Heavy Duty

Hi I am tryig to find a SynScan Hand controller for a HEQ5 Heavy Duty Mount. The HEQ5 Pro hand sets dont fit as the mount has a RJ12 socket and the new handsets have RJ45!! Anyone help out here?

The Synscan goto handset won't work with the older black non goto HEQ5 mounts.

Hi cant you get an adapter to change plug or lead made up the manual show the connection for the plug

Off the top of my head, my HEQ5 has an RJ45 connector.  I think I made up a "straight through" cat5 patch cable to connect the synscan handset because I didn't like the curly cable.  Are we definitely talking about a HEQ5 here?  If so, is it perhaps an older model?

If it is the original, non-GOTO version of the HEQ5 then the motors and the control board need to be upgraded as well to make it GOTO, not just the handset.

Using an adapter still wouldn't work. The Synscan handset will interrogate the mount's mcb to determine the mount type. The mcb on the old black HEQ5 won't be recognised by the handset which will then return an error message.

It's the old black pre-goto version with basic handset and motors.
